What Is a Sailing Catamaran?
One of the most popular types of recreational boats is the sailing catamaran. This type of sailing schooner is a bit different from what most people picture when they visualize a sailboat or yacht. A catamaran, often called by the shortened term cat, is a double hulled boat with sails. When you want fast sailing, sailing a catamaran is a good idea because these vessels fly deftly across the water lifted and propelled by air packed into the sails. These speedy sailboats are ideal for open areas where maximum sailing speed is desired.
